Sorry if I don't get back to everyone today; my friend Carissa is taking me to a Reel Big Fish concert ^__^ And I have to learn how to skank.

I am back, finally. Well, mentally, I mean. Physically, it was last night, but you'll forgive me, eh? Bullet point review ahead.

In case anyone was kind of wondering what that last post was about (besides The Beatles being made of awesome), this involves me and how my body hates me because I got sick. Just days before I'm supposed to see Fall Out Boy D: Woe is me. But there's no way in hell I'm missing this, even if I might be dead before the night is over.

ASDFJKL; FALL OUT BOY TOMORROW! *GLEE*

OMB OMB GUYS! FIRST PEEK AT AN ENTIRE SONG FROM THE SWEENEY TODD MOVIE!!! *FLAILLLLLL* AND THE ONE THAT I DIDN'T WANT THEM TO SCREW UP, AND THEY DID IT SO BEAUTIFULLY!!! THIS PLEASES ME GREATLY!!! EXCLAMATION POINT TIMES THREE!!!

HERE, HAVE SOME AWESOME )

No, really, listen to that clip. JOHNNY DEPP SINGING, PEOPLE. OH MAN.

If you've never heard/seen Sweeney Todd A) shame on you, and B) do yourself a favor and if it's coming your way? Get tickets. Seriously. It's pretty much my favorite musical ever next to Phantom of the Opera, what? There's sex, violence, murder, implied rape, suicide attempts, cannibalism, among many, many other questionable things, and that's absolutely wonderful that that can all be found in a musical. Very adult, very black humor, very awesome.

That particular song in that clip was my favorite in the whole work, from the second act (if you're going by the stage version), and if you're wondering what's going on it goes thusly (keeping the spoilers to a minimum). Sweeney Todd is an angry, angry, vengeful man. Anthony is kind of in love with his (Todd's) daughter, Johanna, but doesn't know it's Todd's daughter. Todd hasn't seen Johanna in fifteen years because he was imprisoned for absolutely nothing. So the first singing voice you hear is Anthony mooning over Johanna, then Johnny Sweeney croons ever-so-sweetly about her while slitting the throats of his customers in his barber shop. That's all the sputtering of blood onscreen and laughing in the audience you hear :D

If anyone wants them, downloads of the same song, different casts ^__^

Johanna, the version in the above youtube video. Johnny Depp singing ^__^ His voice is thin, but very pretty <3

Johanna, 1979 original Broadway cast, featuring a VERY YOUNG Victor Garber as Anthony ♥♥♥ Did I mention the original cast had Angela Lansbury in it? Awesomeness, people.

Johanna, 2005 Broadway revival cast, which has no sound effects! *yay!* better singing! *yay* actual emotion! *yay!* and minimalist, stripped down orchestrations! *yay!* I saw this cast twice, oh gosh, soo soo gooooood ^_____^

Johanna, version made with the New York Philharmonic, with George Hearn (yes I am a musical theater nut, what of it?) as Sweeney *loves to death* And he has a much deeper voice than all the other Sweeneys.

And if anyone wanted the full original or revival cast recordings, I wouldn't say no to putting them up. *cough*

SO EXCITED FOR THIS TO COME OUT!

About Patrick being on Law & Order, and oh, that sound you hear is my ovaries exploding.

Guys, guys, he's gotta be the bad guy. Seriously. And I want him more because of it ♥♥♥

Anyways, got my physical copy of Viva La Cobra today *squee* and like I promised (in my mind, at least) here's the polaroid that came with it:

Cut for you flist, you're welcome )

AHAHA, OMG SO RANDOM, but like I expected any less from CSS? Oh no =D

Obligatory update on the fires: here's a pic I took this morning.

Me = nervous )

And a short video )

As you can see, looking for stuff at a distance is pretty much impossible. The ash/dust was really heavy today, since the area around the local military base has caught on fire now. Said military base, Camp Pendleton, had to be evacuated because the flames were jumping across the highway--across eight lanes, no less. Some of the fires up north are close to being put out or are almost completely contained, whch is, needless to say, absolutely fabulous. The winds have died down, so it's making firefighters' jobs easier. Hopefully, we can get them put out so they firefighters can get some much-needed rest, then come down here to help out in San Diego County/Orange County. San Clemente is almost completely green, so even if the flames make it here, they'll be stalled fairly well until we get some more support (so few firefighters, gosh!) I heard reports of volunteers and firetrucks coming in from all over the country to help out, so even if none of them ever read this, thank you so much.

Related, Prez George fucking Bush is coming to "assess the damage" tomorrow and I guess make sure FEMA doesn't screw the fuck up again. The Today Show is throwing us a bone, as they had Matt Lauer here yesterday, but he's conveniently back in New York now, what a surprise. Not that I'm attacking the media over this or anything, but we'd rather have some more firefighters, tyvm.

Stay golden.

New layout, yay! Not as big a fan of half naked Wentz as I am of any-clothing-state-whatsoever Patrick, so Patrick wins =D But if anyone can point me in the direction of some nice banners, I'll check them out, because I'd like a bigger one (moar Patrick, plz).
