I FUCKING LOVE DOCTOR WHO
Okayokayokay, my expectations were not that high for this episode, but oh. my. god. they were exceeded SO HARD. Of course, the plot overall was not that solid, and the deus ex machina at the end will have to have consequences somehow--with what the spoilers have given us, there's a lot of problems with the environment going on in the final episodes. As if they weren't doing enough with beating us over the heads with the "DESTROYING THE ENVIRONMENT IS BAD, MMKAY?" stick this episode.
But. This episode was complete fanservice.
Review in short:
"Are you my mummy?" AHAHAHAHAHA. YES. SERIES ONE REFERENCE FOR THE MOTHERFUCKING
Ten's hair was outrageously good looking :D
Martha wearing Ten's overcoat, and I love how they're really BFF now. see: Martha's chin on the Doctor's arm after he gets back from his foiled suicide trip. Also awesome: DONNA HITTING THE DOCTOR, LMFAO.
I also love how the Doctor was playing clone!Martha like a guitar from the very beginning. Of course, I knew that he knew just because I've picked up on a ton of David Tennant's acting quirks.
Going back to the Doctor's foiled suicide attempt, WHY IS HELEN RAYNOR ALWAYS TRYING TO GET THE DOCTOR TO KILL HIMSELF? STOPITSTOPITSTOPIT. I LOVE WOOBIE!DOCTOR TOO, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN HE SHOULD BE TRYING TO OFF HIMSELF EVERY CHANCE HE GETS.
Aww, Ross ;__; I'm going to miss him so much. I love that the Doctor showed so much compassion and reminded Colonel Mace that he had a fucking name, but awww. This kind of harshed my squee.
The Doctor. So. much. love. I love series four Doctor soso much, and I can forgive the attempted suicide (that was the result of bad writer and nothing more) because: he so clearly delights in being clever again (moreso in the last episode), he gave Martha her due when he told her that she saved him so many times, he guided Donna through the Sontaran ship and kept encouraging her and rewarding everything she did to help, cracking jokes in the middle of a crisis (Are you my mummy?), the aforementioned "His. name. was. Ross." moment, and fixing everything in a very Doctor way. He's just back, finally ♥♥♥ The only thing that was missing this episode was him licking something XD
Blatant fanservice: the mentions of the Rutan and Sontaran war, going on for 50,000 years, and OH MY FUCKING GOD THEY MENTIONED THE BRIGADIER. YES. SO MUCH YES AND WIN AND FLAIL. BRIGADIER SIR ALASTAIR GORDON LETHBRIDGE-STEWART, BITCHES. He may be in Peru, BUT OMG THE DOCTOR SAID HE WISHED THE BRIG WAS THERE \o/
ROSE! It was only for a couple secs, but ROSE YAY!
lol The Valiant! Protecting the skies of planet Earth, it's the Valiant, the Valiant! [/geekitude] oh my god, please tell me I'm not the only one who's listened to the Last of the Time Lords commentary with Tennant, Freema, and Barrowman, please :D
The Doctor changing the channels when the Sontarans started doing their chicken dance LOLOLOL It also looked like the cartoon was the Doctor himself, but that's probably not true (aww)
The trailer for next week. Bound to be a wank fest because RTD wrote part of it, but I don't fucking care because A) we'll get paternal!Doctor (reportedly a tour-de-force performance by David, according to RTD) and B) omfg Georgia Moffatt. The same Georgia Moffatt that is Peter Davison's daughter. The same Peter Davison that was the Fifth Doctor. A real-life daughter of the Doctor is playing the Doctor's daughter. YES. OMFG YES. And she looks exactly like him

omg so freaking cute!
And from the trailer, she looks pretty Mary Sue-ish, but I'll reserve judgment.
SQUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEE
