Hohum, says I. Yeah, it sucks we didn't win. Yeah, it wasn't counting toward SCSBOA championships. Yeah, I'm glad Mr. M got his win. Yeah, we're going to thrash them at Capo.
This 2nd place was a good thing for us...at least that's what I think. It's better for us to have gotten a loss out of the way early in the season (and in a comp that didn't count) so that we can be more determined and work that much harder. Like Elliot and Mr. Jackson said last night, it's easier to catch up than it is to stay on top. We know what to do to get better. We just need to redouble our efforts and come out swinging at the next comp.
Till, then I contemplate my mixed feelings and gauge others' reactions as best I can. "Winning isn't everything, but losing is nothing", huh?.....Indeed.
