I honestly have no idea why people are being such gigantoid pricks about slash. I know

rocza has her whole "don't like, don't join" attitude, but then she basically insults the intelligence anyone who so much as says "squee"? Honestly, it's like we're not even allowed to examine the thought that they look good on any given night, lest we get banned. An outright bitch, if I may be so bold *waves slash flag proudly*

On a side note, there's been similar problems over in the House, M.D. fandom here. (http://community.livejournal.com/house_wilson/636628.html#comments) It's mostly 'shipper wars, but there's a fair amount of homophobia and general intolerance going on; basically het 'ships v. slash 'ships :(

Awww, don't let 'em get ya down :( I'll admit, I have to get through some adversity, but usually having more than one fandom open to you is good enough to keep going, no matter what kind of ridicule closed-minded people impose. There's a reason I don't post in TDS LJ; tds_rps people are much nicer because it's one of my niches. We all think basically alike, and can have intelligent conversations...when we're not keyboard smashing over the latest fic ^__^ So, if trolls ruin it for you, don't let them! I'm sure the slashers were under attack in the HP fandom at a time (I'm not completely sure since I wasn't there at the advent of slash in the fandom); and eventually I hope people will get over being such asses.
