Basically (quote [livejournal.com profile] lplover22)

House- I need a wife and kids to make me happy. *eyes Cuddy* Oh you'll do. All I need is love! *leg pain magically goes away* I'm going to be a daddy now, even though I've always been against the idea!

Cuddy- I'm going to dress more slutty and ask House's opinion on everything because being a strong willed woman is SO 3 seasons ago. Also I'm going to dump the man who I just got engaged to and declare love to a man I recently b*tched out and wanted nothing to do with...ALL IN ONE DAY.

Wilson- And I'm going to get together with the woman who broke my heart into a thousand tiny little pieces, kick out my best friend (who needs my help) of twenty years, to move in with said woman after a few weeks.

That's it. I wash my hands of this fuckery. Unless I hear some amazingly awesome spoilers for next season, I ain't coming back.

I just feel like smacking the showrunners--my friend [livejournal.com profile] jomadge hit it right on the head pointing out how self-congratulatory they are on the House/Cuddy fiasco, while at the same time sucking whatever was left of Cuddy's personality out and now it's lost to the ether :|

Thank you for the link. She links to some good stuff too, like ranrata's post. Ugh the show's misogyny has just been so over-the-top this season. From Wilson going all neurotic and bitchy because Sam puts the milk on the wrong shelf (??) to Cuddy becoming ... someone else far less interesting for the sake of House. I want the old days back.

Me too :( If the show had been functioning on anything but a shipping agenda, the season 5 finale, maybe even earlier (think "Joy") might have been the point where a (formerly) hard-as-nails badass bitch like Cuddy would have put her foot down on House's verbal abuse and cut off all possibility of them ever getting together. But clearly what's wrong in her life is that she's missing a man and House is a much better choice and will be a better father to Rachel than Lucas, and dumping your fiancé and hooking up with the misanthropic SOB that's been steamrolling you for four seasons is True Love, not some desperate attempt to fix him.
