Ask me to take a picture! Anything, no matter how random. You can ask for as many as you want. It could be my dog, my room, a sock, whatever one.

Except not the dog thing cuz I don't have one. D:

A very nice collection. I approve.

Is that the Persona where they shoot themselves in the head to summon monsters?

[identity profile] vinylsigns.livejournal.com 2008-11-02 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
Why thank you :D

Yup! I still haven't finished it, but I'm in the final stretch and, unfortunately, when you get stuck on these bosses, there's not a lot you can do other than grind levels, and even then you need to be RIDICULOUS or extremely lucky. Or a little bit both.

[identity profile] lucia-tanaka.livejournal.com 2008-11-02 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
That's why I don't play RPGs anymore (especially JRPGs). I can't stand necessary grind. That was why I liked the Lunar series so much. Very easy to low-level run it so long as your pay attention and play strategically.

So.... Torture scene. Does Ocelot always look DIRECTLY AT THE CAMERA and say "and don't use the auto-fire. I'll know," or did the game notice I had a turbo controller and decide to really throughly fuck with me?

(Also, I ratted out Meryl real fast. I've seen bits of MGS4. I know she lives. :D :D :D)

[identity profile] vinylsigns.livejournal.com 2008-11-02 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
I have an unfortunate taste for commitment when it comes to my RPGs, so once stuck in a quagmire I shall seek to free myself of it D: Stubbornness, thy name is Sara.

I'm about 85% sure he says it every time, but it's debatable considering the tricks Kojima pulls concerning Psycho Mantis--depending on what games you have, his monologue changes, so maybe it's the same of turbo controllers? In any case, I might remind Kojima: FOURTH FUCKING WALL.

Snake approves and would rather have Otacon anyway.

[identity profile] lucia-tanaka.livejournal.com 2008-11-02 07:44 am (UTC)(link)
That's why you pick up lengthy FPSes- O WAIT, YOU'RE ON THE PS3, YOU LACK BIOSHOCK, HAHAHAHA :MOCKS:

I kid, I kid. :D

Thank GOD, because I was genuinely freaked when he suddenly looked at me and said that.

Oh lookie, the wiki knows all: Another example of breaking the fourth wall; some controllers have an 'auto-fire' function that when activated will repeatedly and rapidly send a button press signal to the console, while the player is in fact just holding the button. If the game engine detects that the button presses are occurring too rapidly, it will immediately drain the player's life bar.

Otacon is horrendously endearing. I walked in already liking him, and now I completely adore his character. Woe, I have fallen hard. (Also, the bonus item you get from Otacon's ending is miles better than the alternative. Even my GameFAQ said to surrender during the torture.)

[identity profile] vinylsigns.livejournal.com 2008-11-02 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Btch plz, Bioshock was released for the PS3 on October 21st. *MOCKS*

;-)

Isn't he just fucking adorable? His romanticism is a fantastic balance to Snake's cynicism <3 And have I ever mentioned how much I love his VA? Because I do; it suits him so well.

Stealth camo > everything ever.

[identity profile] lucia-tanaka.livejournal.com 2008-11-02 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
YEAH WELL... YOU DON'T OWN IT, SO NYAH.

He is. I've decided that I am definitely gonna be writing fic in the MGS fandom. The stupid high school AU idea is percolating more and more as I play.

MGS > Everything. I just took on an assault helicopter and won. ♥

[identity profile] vinylsigns.livejournal.com 2008-11-02 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
...It's cuz I'm broke ;__; And I've played the demo and it kind of scared the shit out of me but I want to play anyway.

OH LAWD @ high school AUs. I see visions of Dave chilling in a cardboard box while scoping out the bastards who stuck Hal in a locker. He is found out because A) srsly, wtf is that box doing there?, B) he belatedly realizes he's still wearing his track shorts and shirt, C) some weird smell is wafting over from the box.

Otacon actually comments on that via codec in MGS4. When they're back in Shadow Moses, Otacon goes all fanboy and is like, "Snake, you're a goddamn madman. You took on a Hind D and won. You're...the shit!" And that last sentence is actually uttered. I kid you not. Fanboy Otacon fanboys.

EDIT or it might have been about the battle against Vulcan Raven. Yeah, it was.

I am a huge wuss (like, I get scared from commercials), but BioShock is so beautiful and immersion and wonderful, I got pretty far in it when I played. I fully intend to buy it when I get my 360. :D

It does pull some mean scary shit. I remember in the Medical Pavillion, walking down a hallway, finding a dead end and then as I tuned around, the lights went out. I could hear splicers (bad guys) coming towards me, could hear them talking. The light dimly flickered, showing me glances of where they were, and I was all OMG OMG OMG and I just went nuts with the lightning power and killed them. Then some absolute fucker Mum works with snuck up behind me and went "Boo" and I screamed. It was scary, but the adrenaline rush was amazing.

(wow, I rambled on there)

High school AUs never get old, imo. They are fandom's guilty pleasure. I had this stupid idea about Liquid wanting to do something mean to the Geek Cliche (Mei Ling, Otacon, EE, maybe some others?), but Dave rats him out. Liquid is pissed, so he using his status as The Popular Sports Dude to get the other athletes to shun Dave, so Dave ends up hanging with the Geeks for a while and finds himself starting to like them a bit. Also, Jack is part of the Geeks too. Dunno why, but I peg Raiden as the semi-cool guy who prefers the Geek Cliche. Maybe he just hates the bitchiness and the politics of the Popular Kids. Maybe cause I know enough about MGS2 to know Raiden is a geek in goon's clothing.

.... I rambled on again.

I saw that codec message. Oh, Hal. You nerd. Don't ever use that phrase again. ♥

nothing's more comfortable than an unmade bed :-) And I get my privacy in a very public area since I don't have to worry about people coming up behind me and spying on what I'm doing. And that's good since you already know where my bed's located lol.
