i'd always had this idea that california was this laid-back place of awesome with palm trees & sunsets, & while i guess it was kind of like that when we were there, & i truly love the sea, i didn't get the same kind of sense of belonging that i did when we were in chicago. i don't know what it was, but. chicago was everything, & like, i couldn't conceive of ever settling in california. don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, but. you get it. chicago, man. ♥

I don't know how I missed this post, but I feel the same. I mean, not forever. I really do love my California. But I feel so sheltered around my family I guess? I feel like I need to take some time away from this state at some point in my life to grow.
