I think I did this meme ages ago, but it just came up again.
1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like.
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.
my answers to
gemstar69's questions
1. You make a soundtrack to your life. What are the first and the last songs, and what colour would the cover be?
I always tend to be a little boring and predictable on these questions ^__^ My first song would be something that'd be indicative of my personality and just get ready to go on the journey of my life, so I'd have to say "Here Comes the Sun" by The motherfucking Beatles. The closing song is definitely "I Was Meant for the Stage" by The Decemberists. I'm a musician and I know what it's like to be up there and play for an audience and feel like it's the type of thing I'd like to do for a long time, but at the same time my sense of practicality wouldn't let me pursue a career in music. But that dreamy part of me still has daft plans that do or don't pan out, but I feel comfortable in that part of myself.
2. You get the opportunity to go to a bar to have a laugh with Stephen Colbert. What drink do you buy him?
Stephen strikes me as an extremely down-to-earth kind of guy; married, three kids, solid career in comedy, but still wears horrible sweaters and does parlor tricks with his wonky ear. So I wouldn't expect anything fancy or high class, just, like, a tallboy after a long day's work, maybe throw in a couple extra pitchers and drunk dial some friends. All in good fun ^__^
3. Would you like the Doctor to tell Rose he loves her?
Eeeee, sticky situation there. I fully believe that if the crack in the universe hadn't sealed up right at that moment, he would have said it, and my fangirlishness would explode from CUTE and HAPPINESS and cry tears of immense sadness because they were torn away from each other. That being said, with the distinct possibility of it maybepossibly happening during the final episodes of this series, I'm going to have to say no. Rose said it because that's very Rose--she doesn't hold on to anything, she has no qualms about asking questions and speaking her mind and saying exactly what she means. The Doctor, on the other hand, relies on half truths and ambiguous answers; saying something flat-out isn't his style when it comes to matters of the heart.
At this point, they know each other well enough to where if he did say it, it'd just be fact. Like, "The sky is blue." "Alright, already knew that, but thank you *g*" Besides, the Doctor said it best, "If you see Rose, tell her...Oh, she knows."
4. You get one trip, and one trip only with Ten. Where do you go and what do you do?
UGH. UGH, YOU ARE CRUEL. OKAY. OKAY. I know it's so cliche and overdone and they totally went there in The Unicorn and the Wasp and Daleks in Manhatten, but, like, the 1920's. BUT IN NEW YORK. The Roaring Twenties had such a killer style and I'd hope there's something in the TARDIS wardrobe that I could wear (because Donna's size =/= my size) because there aren't any ATMs in the twenties, therefore no sonic screwdrivering fun to be had, but anyways. We could still use the psychic paper in get into speakeasies or a nice show or some crazy party with JAZZ BANDS and JAZZ HANDS and flappers and I'd get him to dance because I'm rubbish at it, but so is he (Human Nature? David's lack of dancing skillz, let him show you) so we could be rubbish together and still have a good time. Of course the only thing that'd really make him happy is if some aliens showed up to mess with history, but I'm not allowing it ^__^ And I'd make him wear a waistcoat becauseit's hot it'll help him fit in more.
5. Do you believe in any type of afterlife or higher-power?
I always feel uncomfortable answering these types of questions because the last thing I ever want to do is offend someone, but no on both parts. Possibilities are infinite, of course, but for my two cents, I don't see what use it is wondering if there's an all-powerful being out there that's watching over us when there's no proof except what some books say happened. I've said before that organized religion is completely pants, but if someone says they still have a personal connection with their god/gods, more power to them, honestly. I'm happy for them, but it's just not for me. There's one life and one try to get as much as you want out of it, and the notion that life isn't a test to get into Heaven or some other version of the afterlife is comforting and gives it meaning.
