mezzanineview: (No happy ending...by dreamaria)
I've never really liked hospitals. With that amazing revelation, I'd now like to say that I spent Monday afternoon in two of them, instead of going to said music rehearsal discussed in my previous post. Particularly, that very morning, I examined my left foot and thought my ankle was a little big, but nothing major. While I browsed other LJ during the day, my leg was engulfed in that curious falling asleep feeling, so I thought nothing of it. So it was my upmost surprise to find my face meeting the loverly white tile floor when I tried to stand after a particularly long session at the computer. I hobbled upstairs and asked if the size of my leg looked normal to her, and she just said I needed to go to the hospital.

I quickly discovered that attempting to walk + a bad leg + quite a severe sunburn = a more painful than normal hospital visit. The upside was that the nurse that first examined me was very nice and sympathetic, and the doctor that diagnosed me was quite cute [mwahahaha]. Anyways, there was two possibilities: I had some condition that could be solved by a short regimen of antibiotics, or I had a blood clot; the latter of which was extremely rare in persons my age. So, off I made my merry way to Lake View Hospital for a special blood test (and me, squealing like a sheep that knows it's being led to slaughter), and because it was positive, I was sent to get an ultrasound. Now, and ultrasound, where some hot gel-like substance is put on the afflicted area and an instrument applies a lot of pressure to the skin. That being said, I have a sunburn that spans my entire body. You do the math. At least a radio was on, so I sang along to The Beatles as a distraction. The ultrasound turned out negative (YYYAAAYYY!!!), so I got an antibiotic prescription, plus some painkillers and buttery lotion that they use on burn victims, so I could heal from the sunburn faster (and I'm happy to report that I'm feeling FABULOUS because of that balm). Grandma picked up a chocolate frappachino (not Starbucks) for me as comfort food and we made our triumphant return home (HUZZAH).

Like the trooper I most definately (like to think) I am, I went to the second music rehearsal on Tuesday...and was the center of great sympathy, and thus promptly pampered by just about everyone (including Mr. Jackson, who seemed to be in an amazingly pleasant mood, and he brought me some spoils from the BBQ and allowed me to eat inside the band room). [insert evil laughter] The concept for the new fieldshow is pretty fricken awesome, too. The theme is clockworks, and thorughout the show, we probably won't stop moving, seeing as time never stops and all. All that will really change is the tempo. there are a lot of other really cool things going on, but I can't retain any iformation for the life of me right now. I just spent my first day at work, and I'm kinda tired. [le snooze]
